Ali-Demon Incorporated

At one point last night during the Rogues' meeting, the conversation turned to picking on me (as it is wont to do). The idea came up that there should be Ali-demon branded gear, including bracelets (WWAD?), T-shirts(front: "Why?", back: "Because Ali-demon made me"), mousepads, coffee mugs, and key chains.

I'm now in the planning stages for overtaking the world with branded accessories.

Step one: Develop logo.
Step Two: Get a celebrity to wear Ali-demon gear.
Step Three: Sit back and count money.

The moral of the story: nagging your friends to write more can sometimes lead to fame and fortune.

Where was I? I want to get the t-shirt. Long sleeved. In gray.

I think you and Fleur were having your own conversation at that point.

You know what really bites about that plan?

The fact that, yes, you will push me to work. And then, dammit, I'll actually buy your gear.

Of course, gear like that doesn't sell very well unless the brand has a recognizable and distinct look to it. Iconic and iconoclastic in one breath, which is tough to do. Yeah, good luck with that.

Don't listen to John. He's just jealous that no one has started calling him John-Demon. All you really need to sell lots of product is to advertise appropriately--that is, you must make everyone believe that if they don't buy your product, bad things will happen to them.

And a fine conversation it was. We solved a few world problems. Or at least personal ones.

Mishell, I think John may be happy with his "Iron John" moniker. But, then again, who wouldn't want to be a demon like Ali? Unfortunately, like Immortals, in the end there can be only one.

I'm quite willing to let Ali be the demon, Mishell. While I don't like being called "Johnny Angel", there's not quite the same ring to "John-Demon" as there is to "Ali-Demon."

Your comment does have a good point, but I will also add that if the look of said gear is visually pleasing enough, it becomes an advertisement when someone wears a piece. In other words, Quality is more cost-effective than slick marketing.

It is entirely impossible to say "iconic" and "iconoclast" in one breath with your gear! To be iconic, a thing has to be comparable to religious icons. To be iconoclastic, one has to destroy religious icons.

On that note, go with pirate motifs. You want to achieve the impossible, go with the suggestions of me.

Whitty, why is that every time I tell you something, you think it's impossible? I hope that word means what you think it does.
